Maasai girls · Kenya's Great Rift Valley

Empowering Maasai Girls.
Ending FGM.
Restoring Hope.

The Maasai are a nomadic people, often missed by the Kenyan Government. Through a trusted network of local churches and pastors, we rescue girls from FGM and early marriage — then keep them safe, in school, and free to choose their own future.

Three pillars of action

Choose the change you want to fund

Our mission, sorted into three clear channels — so your gift goes exactly where you intend.

FGM Rescue & Safe House

Outlawed for under-18s in 2001, FGM is still widely practised as a rite to womanhood. MEA has built a Refuge Centre to house and feed girls during the school holidays — with counselling that helps families change.

General Scholarship Fund

School Sponsorships

We sponsor girls through school — two years of free schooling, uniforms and a daily midday meal, then placement into state Primary. Can't commit to one child? The General Scholarship Fund lets us help girls without finding a sponsor first.

Famine & Water Relief

The Maasai economy is built on cattle, sheep and goats — and drought kills them. Families walk miles, often crossing borders, to find water, and desperate households sell daughters for dowry. MEA distributes food to the remote tribes as structural prevention.

Transformation, not trauma
From the bush to high school: how hope found a way for Naserian.

Rescued at 13 the night before her cutting, Naserian now boards at secondary school and wants to train as a nurse. In her village, three families have since chosen education over early marriage.

“Attitudes here are shifting — parents now come to us asking to keep their daughters in school.”
— Local pastor & MEA field partner
